It wasn’t long ago Jimmie Johnson was supposedly in the midst of a disappointing season. He hadn’t won yet and was in the latter portion of the Sprint Cup top 10. Now, Johnson will start the Pocono 400 on Sunday racing for his third straight win and as the Sprint Cup points leader.

While Johnson has surged recently, he’ll have his work cut out for him if he’s going to make it three straight weeks in victory lane. Johnson struggled some during qualifying and failed to make it to the second round. He’ll start from the 20th position with early ground to make up. Everyone will be chasing Denny Hamlin when the green flag flies who is on the pole for the third time at Pocono. He won the first two times he started from the pole at Pocono and will attempt to make it three-for-three on Sunday. Hamlin ran very well in qualifying, setting a track record.
TNT will handle the television coverage for the race, with their pre-race show scheduled to start at noon ET. Live race coverage will begin an hour later at 1 p.m. with Adam Alexander, Wally Dallenbach Jr. Kyle Petty and Larry McReynolds set to be in the booth for the call. Viewers searching for even more pre-race can tune into FoxSports1 at 11 a.m.
Viewers with a NASCAR Race Buddy subscription will be able to follow the race live online. Race Buddy coverage includes 10 live high definition feeds, including driver cams and a pit road cam. There is also a live leaderboard. Radio coverage will be available from Motor Racing Network on Sirius-XM. It can also be streamed online.
