NASCAR New Hampshire 2014 schedule: Aric Almirola looks to duplicate strong performance from 2013

After notching his first career NSCS win last week, Almirola returns to the track where he earned a top-five finish in 2013.

USA TODAY Sports

Aric Almirola joined NASCAR’s Chase for the Sprint Cup after earning his first career victory -- a rain-shortened, restrictor plate one at that -- last weekend at Daytona. Next, he will try to keep his momentum going when the green flag drops for the 2014 Camping World RV Sales 301 at approximately 1:15 p.m. ET on Sunday.

Almirola turned in a strong performance in the race, which is held at New Hampshire Motor Speedway, last season. The 30-year-old Richard Perry Motorsports driver finished in the top five only three times in his seven-year Sprint Cup Series career before placing fifth last July 14.

As always, there will plenty going on aside from the NSCS race this weekend, including the Nationwide Series’ Sta-Green 200. Here is a schedule of events:

Friday, July 11

11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.: NSCS practice
1:10 p.m. to 2 p.m.: NNS practice
3 p.m. to 4:25 p.m.: NNS final practice
4:40 p.m.: NSCS qualifying

Saturday, July 12

9 a.m. to 9:50 a.m.: NSCS practice
10:10 a.m.: NNS qualifying
11:30 a.m. to 12:25 p.m.: Final NSCS practice
3:30 p.m.: Sta-Green 200
