NASCAR Indianapolis 2014 schedule: Brickyard 400 weekend gets underway

The stage is set for a big weekend at Indy, where Ryan Newman will look to defend his Brickyard 400 title. Here’s the information you’ll need to stay tuned in.

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

All eyes will be turned towards Indianapolis Motor Speedway this weekend as the Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series take over for a few days. The drivers are already at Indy taking their practice laps in anticipation of the real action beginning on Saturday, so it’s as good a time as ever to start planning out your weekend.

ESPN will be broadcasting both major races, with the Brickyard 400 on Sunday afternoon being the main event of the weekend. Ryan Newman will look to defend his title while the non-Chevy drivers in the field hope to knock off the car maker’s dominance. The past 11 winners of the Brickyard 400 have driven Chevrolet.

The crowds will be massive at Indy, but if you’re unable to trek there yourself, here’s a look at the schedule and how to watch on TV (all times Eastern):
