“Sherry and Martin would like to thank the NASCAR community for all the well wishes,” said a statement released Wednesday. “They have requested that everyone respect the family’s privacy as Sherry begins her treatment and recovery.”

— Sherry Pollex (@SherryPollex) August 13, 2014 Furniture Row Racing has tabbed Matt Crafton, the defending Camping World Truck Series champion, to practice and qualify Truex’s No. 78 car. Truex will rejoin the team for practice Saturday and race in Sunday’s Pure Michigan 400.

Truex is 26th in points with a best finish of sixth this season.
