NASCAR Pocono 2014: Start time, TV schedule for GoBowling.com 400

Pole winner Kyle Larson goes for his first career win on Sunday.

After nine top-10 finishes in his first NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, Kyle Larson envisions his first career victory happening in the near future.

“We are getting the cars faster and faster and we’re getting better and better every week,” Larson told Jeff Owens of the Sporting News. “I really think a win is coming soon.”

Larson earned his first official NSCS pole on Friday and will start alongside Joey Logano in the front row when the green flag drops at approximately 1:19 p.m. ET on the GoBowling.com 400 Sunday at Pocono Raceway.

Larson was awarded the pole on April 26 in Richmond as a result of his top practice speed but wound up finishing 16th. Logano won that race while Jeff Gordon, who took the checkered flag at Indianapolis last week, settled for runner up.

Gordon enters Pocono atop the championship standings, 24 points ahead of Dale Earnhardt Jr. Gordon has won at Pocono twice in his career, the last coming in 2012. He finished second, just behind Kasey Kahne, in the 2013 installment of the GoBowling.com 400.

Coverage of the race begins at 1 p.m. ET on ESPN.
