NASCAR at Pocono 2014 race day weather forecast: Rain remains a threat

It’s a tricky weather day for the Tricky Triangle of Pocono Racewa, with rain in the forecast. Your complete NASCAR at Pocono race day weather update.

Rain is in the weather forecast this afternoon for today’s GoBowling.com 400 at Pocono Raceway. While that might not come as a surprise for most NASCAR fans, whether they will be able to see a complete race is still in doubt.

This morning, showers were passing by to the west of Pocono Raceway along U.S. highway 81. It doesn’t appear these showers will be much of a concern for the track during the morning hours. While rain may miss the track this morning, more showers and possible storms could form later this afternoon.

WILL TODAY'S GOBOWLING.COM 400 GET IN TODAY?
I believe we go racing but I think NASCAR may be racing to half way. The odds of getting an official race (to halfway) is around 75 percent. The odds of getting a full complete race appears to be near 50 percent.

Pocono preview

While not a total washout, rain delays are possible with scattered showers and storms expected to form later this afternoon.

I think NASCAR races to halfway, and any additional laps beyond that point are a gift. It is possible for NASCAR to complete today’s race at Pocono Raceway but as the race goes deeper into the afternoon the odds of getting a shower or storm increases.
