NASCAR at Chicagoland Speedway 2014: Chance of rain tonight and chilly

Unseasonbly cool temperatures and the threat of rain are all in the forecast for NASCAR at Chicagoland Speedway.

It will be a cold and cloudy afternoon across northern Illinois and Chicagoland Speedway. Clouds will be around and temperatures will remain steady in the low to mid 50s. An approaching system will increase the likelihood of showers later this afternoon and evening.

Showers this afternoon and evening could cause issues for the Sprint Cup qualifying and the Camping World Truck Series race later tonight. Rain showers are light and may break up some as they get closer to Chicagoland Speedway but a few delays due to rain are possible.

Rest of the weekend looks dry, sunny but cool. While rain won’t be a problem for the Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series races it will remain cool. High temperatures both Saturday and Sunday will be between 62 and 66 degrees.
