NASCAR Chicago 2014: Start time, TV schedule for MyAfibStory.com 400

Jasen Vinlove-USA TODAY Sports

The Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup gets underway on Sunday afternoon, with the 14th annual MyAfibStory.com 400 from Chicagoland Speedway. It’s the first of 10 races in NASCAR’s version of the playoffs.

ESPN will begin its coverage at 1 p.m. ET with its pre-race show “NASCAR Countdown,” with host Nicole Briscoe and analysts Rusty Wallace and Brad Daugherty.

Kyle Busch, currently eighth in The Chase Sprint Cup standings, starts in pole position in Joliet, Ill., based on practice speeds after qualifying was rained out on Friday. Standings leader Brad Keselowski starts in 25th position.

Race coverage begins at 2 p.m. on ESPN, with announcer Allen Bestwick in the booth with analysts Dale Jarrett and Andy Petree. The network will also have pit reporters Dave Burns, Jamie Little, Dr. Jerry Punch and Vince Welch on the broadcast.

Kevin Harvick, sixth in The Chase standings and starting in 12th position on Sunday, will be the in-car reporter for ESPN during the race, speaking with Jarrett during pace laps and under caution periods.

The green flag is scheduled to drop at approximately 2:16 p.m.

The race will also be shown online on Watch ESPN, and will air live in Canada on TSN2. ESPN Deportes will air the race in Spanish on Monday at 5 p.m.
