Continuing his momentum from wins in the last two weeks, including the first race of the Chase -- the MyAFibStory.com 400 at Chicagoland -- Brad Keselowski grabbed his fifth pole of the year for Sunday’s Sylvania 300 at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
How to follow Sylvania 300 online, TV schedule, radio and more
New Hampshire Motor Speedway hosts the Sylvania 300, as the limits of the “Miracle Mile” are tested by 15 drivers vying for 11 spots in the next round of the Chase for the Sprint Cup.

Perhaps the only thing less surprising than the white-hot Keselowski grabbing the pole was his record-breaking performance in qualifying. His 140.598 mph run continued a string of record breaking qualifying runs this season, which has largely been a function of the changes made to the qualifying process at the beginning of this year.
Despite already clinching a spot in the next segment of the Chase after last week’s win, the 2012 Chase champion is still looking to make some noise in New Hampshire. As he told the Associated Press, “This kind of track is kind of right in my wheelhouse, right in our team’s wheelhouse. We had this race circled before the Chase started and we felt decent about Chicago, but really felt like this was a race of emphasis for us to get a win and get out of the first bracket.”
When he isn’t trying his darnedest to win the race, he’ll look to help his teammate Joey Logano, who qualified seventh, join him as a “Challenger” after next week’s race at Dover.
While New Hampshire’s track doesn’t allows teams to dominate like they do at super speedways, their Penske Racing consortium has been among the most dominant squads all season. In fact, Keselowski and Logano may have even surpassed Richard Childress’s three-headed monster of Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon -- qualified 11th, seventh and 13th, respectively -- who will certainly be working together to find their own way forward.
