Ryan Truex’s future in doubt at BK Racing
Rookie Ryan Truex will likely not finish the season with BK Racing. He’s being replaced in the driver’s seat for a second straight week when NASCAR hits the track at Dover.

When asked about Truex’s future with the team by SB Nation Tuesday, a BK Racing spokesman described the situation as “week-to-week” with no determination having been made about the remainder of the 2014 season. As to why Truex was being replaced, the reason cited was an “owner’s decision,” with discussions ongoing between the organization and Truex’s representatives, according to the spokesman.
BK Racing replaced Truex with former Camping World Truck Series champion Travis Kvapil last weekend at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. Kvapil is again listed as the driver of the No. 83 for Sunday’s race at Dover International Speedway.
Truex, a Rookie of the Year contender, ran 23 of the first 27 races this season with a best result 20th last month at Pocono Raceway. The younger brother of Cup driver Martin Truex Jr., he failed to qualify for three races, including the Daytona 500, and missed the August event at Michigan International Raceway with a concussion sustained during a practice crash.
In addition to Kvapil, BK Racing will field cars for rookies Alex Bowman (No. 23 Toyota) and Cole Whitt (No. 26 Toyota) at Dover.
