Leading from the green flag to the checkered, Kyle Busch easily won the Virginia 529 College Savings 250 Friday night at Richmond International Raceway.
NASCAR Nationwide Series at Richmond International Raceway results: Kyle Busch leads every lap in win
Kyle Busch scored a dominant victory in Friday’s Nationwide Series race.

Starting from pole, Busch led all 250 laps for his 67th career Nationwide Series win and his fourth in 2014. Busch’s last win came in May at Dover International Speedway.
“Good car, good decisions and good execution there tonight,” Busch said. “I knew we were in for a different result than what we’ve been the last couple of times. Pretty pumped about that and pretty pumped about being back in Victory Lane in the Nationwide Series. It’s been a while if you think about it.”
Routinely building up sizeable leads following any of the six cautions that slowed the action, Busch was never seriously challenged. The margin of victory was 1.323 seconds. Points leader Chase Elliott finished runner-up. Kevin Harvick, Ryan Blaney and Brian Scott completed the top five finishers.
Busch’s wire-to-wire romp is the 18th time a driver has led every lap in a Nationwide race. He is also the last to do so, having accomplished the feat in 2011 at Phoenix International Raceway.
Elliott expanded his championship lead to 19 points over second-place Regan Smith, who finished sixth Saturday. The two are teammates at JR Motorsports, co-owned by Dale Earnhardt Jr.
“I hate we couldn’t beat Kyle there,” Elliott said. “I thought we had a really good NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet. We made gains really throughout the night and we were getting closer and closer.”
