Due to inclement weather, NASCAR officials postponed the Saturday night race at Richmond International Raceway to Sunday afternoon. The Toyota Owners 400 will begin at 1 p.m. ET and air on Fox.
Rain postpones Richmond NASCAR race to Sunday
The delay for the Toyota Owners 400 marks the second straight week that a NASCAR race has been interrupted by uncooperative weather.

Rain began falling in the Richmond area mid-morning Saturday and tapered off into the afternoon. Another front rolled in later in the afternoon and didn’t relent, though, forcing officials to postpone NASCAR’s ninth race of the season.
This is the second week in a row NASCAR has dealt with squelchy conditions. Rain caused four separate delays during the race at Bristol Motor Speedway last Sunday, including a nearly four-hour stoppage after 23 of the scheduled 500 laps were completed.
Richmond is the first event to be rescheduled since the 2014 Fourth of July weekend race at Daytona International Speedway, which shifted because of thunderstorms from Saturday night to Sunday afternoon.
The Sunday forecast is more promising, but additional rain is likely according to meteorologist Brian Neudorff. The temperature is projected to hit a high of 54 degrees, and after a shower in the morning conditions are expected to improve by early afternoon.
When the Toyota Owners 400 begins, Joey Logano will lead the field after capturing the pole in Friday qualifying. Logano, who is the defending race-winner, shares the front row with Denny Hamlin, a native of nearby Chesterfield, Va., about 20 miles from the track.
