A fire caused “significant damage” to Leavine Racing Family’s race shop Friday morning in Concord, N.C.
Fire damages NASCAR race team shop
The shop of Leavine Racing Family was “significantly damaged” by an early morning fire Friday.


The fire began around 7 a.m. ET with firefighters getting the blaze under control around 8:30 a.m., according to WSOC-TV.
Leavine Racing released a statement saying that no injuries were reported and the exact cause of the fire was undetermined.
“We can confirm there was was a fire at our Concord, NC shop,” the team said. “Luckily no one was injured. We are working with the fire department and local officials to determine what happened. We’ve heard from the fire department there was significant damage to the back of the race shop. As you can imagine, we are still working to assess the full situation.”
Leavine Racing is a single-car Sprint Cup Series team that fields the No. 95 Ford for driver Michael McDowell. The team is at Kansas Speedway for Saturday night’s Spongebob 400 and said its preparations would not be effected.
