Barney Hall was a classic storyteller whose voice became synonymous with NASCAR and his death Tuesday unleashed an outpouring of heartfelt sentiment. Dale Earnhardt Jr. said Hall was a “blessing,” while Brad Keselowski described the 83-year-old as a “great guy” and an “incredible spokesman for the sport.”
NASCAR mourns passing of broadcaster Barney Hall
Dale Earnhardt Jr., Brad Keselowski, Kyle Busch and others express their condolences.


“The entire NASCAR family extends its condolences to the family, friends and fans of Barney Hall, a NASCAR broadcasting giant for more than 50 years,” NASCAR CEO and chairman Brian France said in a statement. “Barney’s impeccable delivery and incredible storytelling skills left an indelible mark on the sport that he so clearly loved.”
