Lots of sunshine in the Phoenix desert for NASCAR

Rain caused major problems at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend, but as NASCAR returns to the desert at Phoenix International Raceway, wet weather will not be a problem.

The 2016 NASCAR season is close to ending, at Homestead-Miami, but before a new NASCAR Sprint Cup champion is crowned, there is one more race to determine the final four drivers who will race for the Sprint Cup. Last year at Phoenix International Raceway, the fall race was a wet one in the desert. And after a rain-delayed and shortened race at Texas Motor Speedway last weekend, the Phoenix event will be sunny and dry.

Sunshine and warm temperatures will be the rule for the weekend. Highs in the afternoon will reach the low to middle 80s, with the only drops coming from the sky being at the celebration in victory lane.
