Race day weather forecast for NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway - Rain is a possible threat

The forecast for Sunday’s AAA Texas 500 Sprint Cup race has changed to include an increased chance of rain. When could the rain arrive and what kind of impact will it have on the race.

The NASCAR Chase for the Sprint Cup Championship is getting closer to crowning a champion as NASCAR is at Texas Motor Speedway for the AAA Texas 500 Sprint Cup race. With pressure on for the final 8 drivers left in the championship the last thing they and their teams want to see is a threat for rain to change their strategy. After delivering some great weather the past couple of weekends, Mother Natures has a few other ideas as rain is a threat Sunday afternoon.

We will be keeping an eye on showers as the day wears on. While the forecast models aren’t in agreement on timing it appears the rain could start to work in between 4 and 6 pm ET. There is a chance of some showers forming out ahead. The current odds of racing Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway is around 70 percent. That is also the odds of getting to an official race (too halfway.) A complete race could be a little more harder to come by if the rain does hold together and moves in when we expect it too. Going odds of a complete race just above 50 percent at 55 percent.
