Dale Earnhardt Jr. busted for speeding on way to Texas NASCAR race

Even NASCAR drivers have to obey speed limits.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. may not be racing competitively, but NASCAR’s most popular driver still knows how to go fast when behind the wheel.

Earnhardt was pulled over and issued a warning for speeding while en route to Sunday’s Sprint Cup race at Texas Motor Speedway. As he sat parked on the side of the road and a police officer wrote out the warning, Earnhardt’s fiancée, Amy Reimann, took a picture and posted it on Twitter.

Reimann did not state how fast Earnhardt was going, or the speed limit he broke. She captioned the photo with, “My little speed racer. #WheelingIt #Warning”

Earnhardt hasn’t raced since early July after sustaining a concussion in a crash June 12 at Michigan International Speedway. The concussion was his third in four years, and he is targeting a return in time for the start of the 2017 season, which begins in February with the Daytona 500.
