Outside of a brief rain delay in Las Vegas, the 2016 NASCAR season has been mostly dry and mostly nice. Now that NASCAR is back east, the question is, “will the streak of dry weather continue?” Unfortunately, rain is likely at Martinsville Speedway on Friday but the rest of the weekend is looking mostly dry.
2016 NASCAR at Martinsville Speedway weather forecast: Will the dry streak continue?
The 2016 season for NASCAR has been mostly dry, but will it stay that way with NASCAR returning back east to Martinsville Speedway?
A cold front will slowly work across the region on Friday and even stall for some time. There’s a chance of showers and possible thunderstorms Friday morning with a few scattered showers, and storms are possible Friday afternoon. The morning session could have delays or cancellations but the activity in the afternoon could get through. Just depends if a shower or storm hits the track or not.
On Saturday morning, there’s a chance of a lingering morning shower, but otherwise the day is mostly dry with a mix of sunshine and clouds. It will be cooler as a second cold front moves through. That system won’t have much if any precipitation with it, but by Sunday we are looking at a cool spring day for the STP 500 Sprint Cup race at Martinsville Speedway.
