Tropical storm Hermine forced NASCAR to cancel all of Friday’s on-track activities at Darlington Raceway due to heavy rain and strong gusty winds. This also cancelled NASCAR Xfinity and Sprint Cup qualifying. NASCAR will set the field, according to owner points.

Tropical Storm Hermine washed out Friday’s scheduled activities at Darlington Raceway but better weather is in store for Saturday and Sunday.
Hermine will start to exit South Carolina Friday night into Saturday morning. Most of the rain will be out of the area on Saturday, but a few lingering showers can’t be ruled out in its wake. There is an Xfinity practice at 9 a.m. ET on Saturday morning, with an 11 a.m. Sprint Cup practice. The Xfinity Series races are still scheduled for 3:30 p.m.
The odds of the morning activities being ran are around 90 percent, while odds of the Xfinity series and Sprint Cup series races are at 100 percent. Once the rain moves out Friday night and early Saturday morning it is a great looking weekend at Darlington.
