Denny Hamlin and sponsor FedEx will continue their long association with Joe Gibbs Racing, with each signing contract extensions with the NASCAR organization.
Denny Hamlin, FedEx sign contract extensions with Joe Gibbs Racing
Hamlin has driven JGR’s No. 11 car full time since 2006.

The length and terms of the deals were not disclosed during a Thursday press conference at Daytona International Speedway. Hamlin’s current contract was set to expire at the end of the 2017 season.
Hamlin has driven JGR’s No.11 car for the entirety of his Cup Series career, which began in a part-time capacity in 2005 before moving to a full-time role the following season. His 29 wins are tops among all active drivers who’ve not won a championship. The 36-year-old has qualified for the Cup playoffs in 10 of the last 11 years, missing the 2013 playoffs after being sidelined four races with an L1 compression fracture sustained in an accident at Auto Club Speedway.
“As a racer, you only dream of an opportunity to compete for wins and championships at the highest level, and I have been fortunate to do that with FedEx and JGR for more than a decade,” Hamlin said.
Only Jimmie Johnson has driven for the same team longer than Hamlin. The seven-time and defending Cup Series champion began his career with Hendrick Motorsports in 2001. He started driving full time for the team in 2002.
FedEx began sponsoring JGR’s No. 11 team in 2005.
