Defending champion Jimmie Johnson is a 3-time winner of the event.

FOX will televise Sunday’s race beginning at 3:30 p.m. ET, with Mike Joy calling the race alongside analysts Darrell Waltrip, Jeff Gordon, and Larry McReynolds.
Jimmie Johnson is a three-time winner of the Auto Club 400, including in 2016, but he will start from the back of the pack after sitting out qualifying on Friday following a wreck in morning practice.
“I just felt it was wiser to get the car prepared correctly rather than qualify poorly,” crew chief Chad Knaus said on Friday. “I wasn’t comfortable putting Jimmie in a position where he would have to hustle a car that he hasn’t turned a lap in yet.”
Johnson will start in row 19 of 20 on Sunday.
Matt Kenseth, also a three-time winner in Fontana, starts in sixth position on Sunday, in Row 3.
In addition to the announcers listed above, the FOX broadcast will include pit reporters Jamie Little, Vince Welch, and Matt Yocum. Online streaming of the broadcast is available through Fox Sports Go.
