Texas NASCAR weather: No rain, but wind

It’s wind not rain that will be the weather issue this weekend for NASCAR at Texas Motor Speedway

The streak of dry weather continues for NASCAR during the 2017 season, but that doesn’t mean weather always cooperates. While we won’t have rain at Texas Motor Speedway for the NASCAR Xfinity and Monster Energy Cup series, strong gusty winds will be the weather story for the weekend.

Both Saturday and Sunday at Texas Motor Speedway will be nice and warm, with both days seeing afternoon temperatures reach the low 80s. Saturday will feature more sunshine than Sunday, as clouds are expected to increase for the second half of the weekend. The weather issue for both days will be a strong, gusty southerly wind. Gusts could reach 25 to 30 mph with sustained winds of 15 to 20 mph. Weather won’t postpone or cancel any races, but it’s definitely not ideal for drivers out on the race track.
