Dover NASCAR weather forecast: Looking a little drier

After what looked like a wet weekend for the Monster Mile, timing looks to keep most if not all of the weekend dry.

The weather picture for Dover International Speedway is getting clearer, and it appears the radar might end up being a little better all weekend too.

One of the biggest challenges early in a race week leading up to the weekend is timing of weather systems. So most weather forecasts of five days or beyond are so inaccurate because the timing is off. That seems to be the case this weekend for the Monster Mile, as now Monday looks like the wettest day after Sunday’s Monster Energy AAA 400 Drive for Autism.

Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine Saturday for practice and qualifying at Dover. Temperatures should reach the upper 70s. There is just a small chance of a lone shower or two passing by, but overall Saturday looks to be a dry day.

Odds of racing the Xfinity OneMain Financial 200 are 100 percent.

Sunday’s weather forecast has improved drastically over the last 24 hours. While there is a slight chance of a shower or storm in the afternoon, most of the time should be dry and the threat of delays looks low but not totally out of the question.

Odds of racing the AAA 400 Drive for Autism are 85 to 90 percent.
