The Monster Energy Cup Series reaches its midpoint of the regular season as NASCAR’s top division heads to Dover International Speedway for its 13th race of the 2017 season: the AAA 400.

What time does the AAA 400 start?

Following the command by award-winning chef and television personality Gordon Ramsay for drivers to start their engines, the green flag is scheduled to wave at 1:15 p.m. ET.

How can I watch the race on television or online?

Fox Sports 1 will air the AAA 400 with its coverage beginning at noon. Mike Joy will handle play-by-play duties and will be joined in the booth by analysts Jeff Gordon and Darrell Waltrip. The race is available to stream online through Fox Sports Go.

What should I know about Dover?

Due to its high banking and one-mile concrete surface, Dover presents a unique challenge to drivers and teams. But while it may be tricky for many to figure out, defending and seven-time series champion Jimmie Johnson has proved to have a handle on the oval nicknamed “The Monster.” The Hendrick Motorsports driver is the track record-holder in wins (10) and laps led (3,093).

Quotable

“The car dynamics and how much the car moves around and the way it launches into the corner and lands, and then you turnaround and fight through all the banking that has the launch back up onto the straightway, takes me back to my roots and really challenges the crews and the crew chiefs and engineers to make the car comfortable and secure. So I just think that the challenges this track throws at a team just fits us really well.”
