The Portland Trail Blazers hosted a group of 12 players for a pre-draft workout on Wednesday. During the workout, the prospects split up into two separate workouts. The first workout included players who are widely considered to be second-round talents or players who will not be drafted while the second workout was for four players who are considered lottery picks, plus a couple of borderline first-round talents.
Jared Sullinger, Perry Jones III Among Top Draft Prospects Working Out For Blazers Wednesday
Jared Sullinger, Perry Jones, Terrence Jones, John Henson, Darius Johnson-Odom and Marquis Teague were the six players who participated in the second workout. The first four of that group could all be reasonable considerations for the Blazers at No. 6 overall. The team also has the No. 11 overall pick, and it’s very possible that a couple of those players could fall that far. Blazers owner Paul Allen reportedly attended the workouts.
In Sam Amick’s latest mock draft for SI.com, none of those four players are going to the Blazers. Amick currently projects center Andre Drummond as the No. 6 overall pick and guard Dion Waiters as the No. 11 overall pick.
