2012 NBA Draft: Celtics Could Consider Moving Up

The Boston Celtics are going to have to make some decisions when it comes to NBA free agency and could need a contingency plan if the team loses Ray Allen. Even if Allen returns, Boston could consider moving up in the first-round of the 2012 NBA Draft, according to Mark Murphy of The Boston Herald.

Regardless of whether Ray Allen returns - a good question both in the minds of the player and the team - the Celtics have to get younger and more athletic on the wing. The Celtics, with the 21st and 22nd picks in the first round, aren’t currently in line for a Cadillac scorer. But they have hinted at a desire to move up.

Murphy mentions that two of the players Boston could be targeting are North Carolina's Harrison Barnes and Washington's Terrence Ross. There is also a mention that the Celtics could consider head coach Doc Rivers' son, Austin Rivers, who has impressed scouts through his workouts.
