Josh Smith Trade Rumors: Hawks Resisting Offers On Star Forward For Now

Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith has been on the trading blocks for years now, and teams continue to express interest in acquiring him. However, for now, it looks like he will not be dealt. New Hawks general manager Danny Ferry is resisting offers for Smith, according to ESPN's Marc Stein.

The Boston Celtics, Orlando Magic, Houston Rockets and Los Angeles Lakers are among the teams that have expressed the most serious interest in Smith, according to Stein. The Lakers are offering Pau Gasol in exchange for Smith, while it's less clear what the Celtics, Magic and Rockets would like.

Smith has one year and $13.2 million left on his contract. He had another strong year in 2011-12, averaging a career-high 18.8 points and 9.6 rebounds per game last year. However, he has made it be known several times that he would prefer to be playing elsewhere.
