As an NBA fan, I’m not sure which of the following statements is scarier. First, there’s NBA Players Union President Billy Hunter:

"If the owners maintain their position it will inevitably result in a lockout."
And then there’s David Stern:
"We know we're going to get an agreement done."
I mean... Stern’s confidence somehow seems more foreboding than Hunter’s dissent. Stern doesn’t say how or when the agreement will come—just that he “knows” it will get done. That doesn’t sound like someone who’s ready to budge, does it? But whatever. Now’s not the time for serious business talk and debates about revenue sharing.

If this is the stuff that we can expect during next year’s lockout, then frankly, we’re headed in the right direction. Don’t budge, David Stern. Stand your ground, Billy Hunter. And rock on, Dwight.
