Andrew Bynum made his long awaited season-debut for the Los Angeles Lakers on Tuesday night as the Lakers cruised to victory over the Washington Wizards, 103-89. Bynum had a quiet night in his first action since offseason knee surgery, scoring seven points and grabbing four rebounds in 17 minutes. Kobe Bryant, on the other hand, was dominant as always, scoring a game-high 24 points and leading the Lakers to their 18th win of the season.

Bryant started slow, but scored 16 in the third to seal the game. On the interior, Pau Gasol had 16 points, nine rebounds and seven assists. Lamar Odom added 18 points and 10 rebounds playing alongside Gasol. Shannon Brown led the Laker bench with 16 points.
The Wizards saw an injury depleted squad get even worse as they lost Yi Jianlian in the first quarter to a sprained knee. Rookie sensation John Wall sat out with a different ailment, this time bothered by tendinitis in his right knee. Andray Blatche also didn’t play, hampered by a sore left knee.
Nick Young led the way for Washington, coming off the bench to score a team-high 21 points. Gilbert Arenas and Al Thornton each added 11 points, with JaVale McGee’s 12 points pacing the starters.
