VIDEO: Paul Pierce Nails Game-Winner In Amare Stoudemire’s Face

Before tonight's game Paul Pierce denied harboring rivalry sentiments towards the New York Knicks, but he and Amare Stoudemire might have to take up one-on-one dueling after this one. Each played his best game of the season, with the final second coming down to Stoudemire trying to stop a runaway Pierce from hitting a game-winning jumper:

↵That’s 11.8 seconds worth of scrambling, Michael Vick fans, and good-enough defense from Stoudemire to at least force the fadeaway. Pierce had 30 on the night already, so the Knicks had to know what was coming, but still wound up putting their point guard on him. Kevin Garnett’s screen led to a different kind of matchup advantage, and ballgame.

↵The guy who dismissed the other team before the game wound up hitting the clinching shot while being guarded by the other team’s best player, who had himself been unstoppable all night long. Sometimes it just works like that.
