Which NBA Player Reminds Ron Artest Of Justin Bieber?

"I was like damn," Ron Artest said in a recent Q&A. "Justin Bieber just scored on us. I was wondering, ‘who is this kid?’" [Name redacted] is a good player. I didn’t even know he could play basketball. I thought he was Bieber."

“He’s officially on my list.” Some questions:

1. What does it mean to be on Ron Artlest’s “list”? Is that good or bad of f***ing terrifying?

2. “He’s good ... I thought he was Justin Bieber.” ... The most backhanded compliment of all time?

3. Who was he talking about? After the jump...

...Okay, now admit it: Ron-Ron makes a good point, right?

That's right, it's Gordon Hayward of the Utah Jazz!

And looking at him there, it’s understandable some awesomely-ADD basketball philosopher might mistake Hayward for Biebs. Unless “Justin Bieber” is how Artest describes any young white guy he’s never heard of, in which case... Well, that’d be pretty awesome, too.

And if you’ve got time to kill, the rest of the interview at Slam Online is worth a look, as well. Artest spends a lot of time talking in depth about his own emotional development, and continues on, talking about his hopes for America’s youth:

We can’t leave this country, these kids, with nothing. You can’t leave them with no education. I’m not talking just school education. I’m talking about education of life. You can’t leave them with nothing. We’ve got to leave them with something.

Not knowing how to … especially with American kids, not knowing how to keep America good. You can’t keep these kids not knowing how to care about someone else, not just about us … someone’s going to be weak. I got kids, I want my children to be totally into charity, totally into going to different countries and helping, totally into being a role model.

CAN YOU SAY SENATOR ARTEST? If it happens, just remember the hat he designed for charity back in 2010, giving the world perhaps the best representation to date of Ron’s inner monologue.
