We expected a lot of offense in this Suns-Knicks tilt, and that’s what we’ve gotten. The Suns dominated early, but the Knicks rallied in the second quarter and leads 64-61 at halftime.
Suns Vs. Knicks: Amare Stoudemire Dominating As New York Leads 64-61
Amare Stoudemire was the man who led the charge for the Knicks. He has 19 points already in the first half on 7-11 shooting, and has been diving down the lane and scoring as he usually does. Steve Nash, on the other hand, is struggling, with just three points and three assists. He’s also committed five turnovers, as the Knicks’ defense as done everything they can to focus on him. Luckily, his teammates have picked up the slack. Vince Carter, who casually went over the 20,000-point mark early in the game, has 15 points and seven rebounds, while Channing Frye and Grant Hill have added 11 apiece.
There will be swings, and there certainly were in this game. The Suns raced ahead to a 39-30 lead after one quarter, but the Knicks dominated the second quarter, outscoring Phoenix 34-22. Don’t overreact to a quick spurt by any one team. Chances are, the other will come back.
