Tim Duncan Injury Scare Just That, As Spur Comes Back For Second Half

Tim Duncan crumpled to the floor with an apparent left knee injury late in the second quarter of the San Antonio Spurs' Monday night against the Golden State Warriors. But after a brief scare that included Duncan leaving the bench area for the Spurs' locker room, the former MVP started the second half for San Antonio.

Duncan hasn't missed a game all season, something San Antonio's other four starters -- DeJuan Blair, Tony Parker, Richard Jefferson and fellow longtooth Manu Ginobili -- can also boast. Before Monday's action, only four players at least 34 years old (guards Ray Allen, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash and Andre Miller) had played more minutes this season than Duncan.

The Spurs were a league-best 37-7 heading into Monday's action. San Antonio had a 5.5-game lead on the L.A. Lakers for the Western Conference crown. The Spurs led the Boston Celtics by 3.5 games for the league's best record.
