The NBA lockout tour set to feature Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and others during the first week of what would have been the regular season might not go off as planned. Yahoo!'s Adrian Wojnarowski reports that the tour's stop in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is in jeopardy as the tour's organizers have not yet provided contracts to arena promoters.
NBA Lockout Tour’s Date In Puerto Rico Reportedly In Jeopardy
The San Juan game is scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 29. Wojnarowski reports that the arena promoters have not received paperwork assuring that all 18 players promised for the game will attend. Without that, the promoters won’t sell tickets out of fear of falsely advertising stars who never show up.
It still remains unclear whether the games will appear on television or via streaming web access in the United States. Broadcast sponsorship figures to play a major role in the tour’s finances. Wojnarowski reports that the tour is being organized by investor Cal Darden Sr. of Atlanta.
