NBA Lockout World Tour Loses LeBron James, Derrick Rose And More

The NBA lockout tour slated to begin in Puerto Rico on Saturday is dropping All-Stars quickly. On Tuesday, Derrick Rose and Russell Westbrook pulled out of the global tour. On Wednesday, Chris Broussard reported that LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul would also pull out.

Ric Bucher reported that Kevin Durant was considering backing out of the tour as well. Yahoo!'s Marc Spears reported that, for now, Durant remains in.

The tour apparently still has Kobe Bryant, Dwyane Wade and Dwight Howard in tow, but it's unclear how the star power of James, Rose and potentially Durant will be replaced. Players were set to earn a good chunk of change from the tour, which has plans for games on multiple continents.

The tour was scheduled to take place over what would have been the first week of the regular season. The season was slated to begin on November 1 with the Chicago Bulls taking on the Dallas Mavericks. As a result of the NBA lockout, David Stern cancelled the first two weeks of the season, some 100 games.
