The NBA preseason kicked off today with four games on the docket. While the games weren’t premier match-ups, the league put together some interesting battles. Rookies Kyrie Irving and Jan Vesely made their debuts, while the Chris Paul-less Hornets took the court for the first time.

The 2011-12 NBA preseason schedule tips off on Friday with four games. The league has grossly truncated its preseason along with the regular season; the NBA will hold a total of just 30 exhibitions between Friday and Thursday, December 22. Each team will play a home-and-home set with a regional rival, with NBA TV televising a number of match-ups. All other games are available via local broadcasters, if at all.
