J.R. Smith and Raja Bell fought all night as the Denver Nuggets hosted the struggling Utah Jazz, as you'll see in the clip below. Bell is a crafty veteran always looking to aggravate his opponent -- SLC Dunk described Bell's defense on Smith as "trolling," which is incredible -- and Smith is a notorious hothead who can't keep himself calm. Problems!
VIDEO: J.R. Smith Gives Raja Bell A Facial, Is Ejected
Skip ahead to 1:08 to see the flagrant foul that Smith gave Bell to end the quarrel, just know that if you skip ahead you’re going to miss a pretty sweet double-flop.
That is Deron Williams immediately giving Smith a piece of his mind, and yes, he's using that sprained wrist to push Smith away. Nate Timmons of Denver Stiffs argues that Smith's foul wasn't excessive enough to lead to an ejection, but players are getting booted for a lot less these days.
Some would call the league soft because of this. I’d just argue that stupid injuries to players aren’t good for anyone, and if Smith can’t figure out how to foul hard without knocking them from the sky like a clay pigeon, then he needs to be kicked out.
The Jazz went on to win, and as such maintained a lead on Denver in the Northwest Division.
