The Bucks shot just 31 percent from the floor, committed 18 turnovers, hit just nine of 15 free throws and captured just six offensive rebounds in 46 opportunities. There was literally nothing good that Milwaukee did on offense, and unfortunately, that’s not rare. The Celtics, meanwhile, were hardly models of offensive excellence, but got the job done by a magnificent margin.

Hansbrough, the second-year player out of North Carolina, where he was a four-time All-American and considered one of the most productive college players ever, has come on of late, giving the Pacers consistent frontcourt play as the starting power forward. He was exceptional against the Knicks, Indy Cornrows writes that after Hansbrough exploded in the third quarter with 13 points, Indiana’s defense took over and took control.
A continuing theme is the Knicks’ poor defense. The Pacers were able to shoot 57 percent from the floor, while the Knicks shot just 36 percent. Until New York has a defensive-minded player at one position, there’s little hope they’ll be able to stop or slow good teams in the playoffs. Consider Indiana a serious indictment.
