Kevin Durant scored seven first quarter points to lead a balanced Oklahoma City attack to a 24-18 lead over the Miami Heat after one quarter of play. Thabo Sefolosha scored five while both Russell Westbrook and Kendrick Perkins added four apiece. The Thunder clamped down defensively in the first quarter holding Miami to 33% shooting from the field while forcing the Heat into three turnovers. Oklahoma City used those turnovers as opportunities to get out on the fast break and have pushed the ball up the court at every opportunity.
Thunder Vs. Heat Score: Kevin Durant Leads Thunder to 24-18 First Quarter Lead
LeBron James scored seven points for the Heat while Chris Bosh added six. Dwayne Wade scored just two points in the first period going 1-5 from the field.
Oklahoma City has looked deeper and Kendrick Perkins, who started his second game for the Thunder, has anchored the defense early. Thus far, Oklahoma City has had a decided advantage inside and Miami will have to come up with some way to penetrate the defense if they hope to pull out a victory in this one.
