As it turns out, the Atlanta Hawks didn't stand a chance against the scorching Chicago Bulls, who won Tuesday's matchup 114-81. Derrick Rose scored 30 points on 11-20 shooting, and Luol Deng added 27 on 10-15. The Bulls led by as many as 47 in the fourth before garbage time shrunk the margin a bit. It was an incredible beating, one the Hawks -- or those who picks the Hawks to win so much as one playoff game -- shouldn't forget.
Bulls Vs. Hawks: Derrick Rose, Luol Deng Knock Atlanta Out
Deng played the first 15 minutes of the game, and had 16 points on 6-7 shooting to show for it. Rose finished the first quarter with nine points and five assists as the Bulls opened up a 10-point lead; a bench attack led by C.J. Watson had doubled the margin by the time Rose returned seven minutes into the second. From there, Rose and Deng put the game out of reach, combining to score 32 points between the back half of the second and the end of the third. The Bulls led by 38 at the end of the three, and the bench took it from there.
Jeff Teague led the Hawks with 20, 17 of which were scored in the uncontested fourth. Al Horford and Josh Smith availed themselves on offense with 14 apiece, but no Hawks played well on defense.
