Dwight Howard has 22 points and eight rebounds after three quarters of play, helping Orlando take a 79-78 lead into the fourth quarter. This game has been closely contested with turnovers by Orlando helping keep the Knicks close. New York has scored 16 points off of nine Magic turnovers thus far.
Magic Vs. Knicks Score: Dwight Howard Lifts Magic To 79-78 Lead After Three
Carmelo Anthony has 21 points after three but the Knicks are going to need either Amare Stoudamire or Chauncey Billups to make an impact if they expect to pull out a victory. Billups had 15 points in the first half but failed to score in the third period. Stoudamire has struggled the entire game scoring just four points on 2-13 shooting.
Orlando did an excellent job of getting Howard involved in the third quarter as the Knicks really have no answer for him defensively. Howard’s presence helped open the floor for the other Magic players as New York was forced to double team him in the post.
