The San Antonio Spurs lost their fifth straight game on Thursday, a 107-97 home defeat to the Boston Celtics. The Spurs aren't used to losing, certainly, but skids this long are completely foreign to this bunch. To wit: This is the first time since Tim Duncan was drafted in 1997 that the Spurs have lost five straight games.
San Antonio Spurs’ Five-Game Losing Streak First Of Tim Duncan Era
↵The Spurs had only lost four games in a two three times before this streak began. Fans of rival teams may want to note that not one of those four-game losing streaks came during one of San Antonio’s title years. The Spurs have had only 20 losing streaks of at least three games in the past 13 seasons and the current campaign. For comparison’s sake, the 1996-97 Spurs had 10.
↵There’s certainly an asterisk on the current streak, as Duncan missed four of the five losses, making it even more amazing.
