The Los Angeles Lakers will be without reserve guard Steve Blake in Tuesday's game against the San Antonio Spurs. He came down with a case of chicken pox--one of the more out-there reasons for a player to miss a game. His return to the team is unknown, but it could be possible that he'll have a delayed start to the first round of the playoffs.
Steve Blake Out Of Lakers-Spurs Game Due to Chicken Pox, Of All Things
According to his wife, Kristen, Steve did not contract chicken pox from any of their children, all of whom have been vaccinated. They are unsure of what caused Steve’s current condition. Blake has averaged 4.0 points and 2.0 rebounds this season in 79 games.
The Lakers' Matt Barnes will be a game-time decision, as his sire right knee may prevent him from playing. If Barnes is unable to go, the Lakers will have quite a thin bench for the game. Barnes has averaged 6.7 points and 4.3 rebounds in 53 games this season.
