Rest easy, Lakers fans, because Andrew Bynum's injury doesn't appear to be serious. The Lakers' center, who had to leave the team's game against the San Antonio Spurs on Tuesday with a hyperextended right knee, underwent an MRI Wednesday that revealed a mere bone bruise, the team announced. Bynum is expected to take part in the 2011 NBA Playoffs.

The injury occurred in the second quarter, when Bynum stepped on the foot of DeJuan Blair. He went down in pain, harkening back memories to his previous injury struggles that have often put a promising NBA career on hold. The Lakers' title hopes would have been severely threatened by a Bynum injury, because his size and length inside gives the team a huge matchup advantage. Luckily for Lakers fans, it appears that these fears can be put to rest.
Bynum is averaging 11.3 points and 9.4 rebounds per game in 54 games this season.
