NBA Playoff Odds, Spurs Vs. Grizzlies: Spurs Favored, But Long Series Expected

The San Antonio Spurs enter their 2011 NBA Playoffs first-round series against the Memphis as favorites to win, but the series is expected to go long, according to the sports betting site Bodog. The Spurs clinched home-court advantage throughout the Western Conference, but lost home-court advantage in the Final to the Bulls. The Grizzlies, meanwhile, tanked two games to get this matchup instead of facing the Lakers. The two teams split during the regular season, with the Grizzlies winning the last two despite not having Rudy Gay healthy.

Bodog lists the Spurs’ odds at 4/17, and the Grizzlies’ line is at 17/5. The Grizzlies’ moneyline is -425, while the Grizzlies’ is +340. Vegas expects it to be a long series: San Antonio has 5/1 odds to sweep, but 9/2 odds to win in seven. The Grizzlies’ best odds is to win in six games (13/2).

The Spurs are also among the favorites to win the 2011 NBA title. At 7/1 odds, only the Bulls, Lakers and Heat are higher. The Grizzlies are at 100/1.
