Derrick Rose might be the NBA’s MVP this season, but Darren Collison is showing no fear, helping lead the Indiana Pacers to a 55-51 lead over the Chicago Bulls. Rose has been outstanding with 18 first-half points but Chicago looked lost when he went to the bench. The play of Collison and reserve A.J. Price has the Pacers looking for an upset. Collison and Price combined for 21 points and five assists helping to offset the good first half from Rose.
Bulls Vs Pacers Score: Derrick Rose Scores 18, Chicago Trails 55-51 At The Half
Chicago got very little from its supporting cast besides for Rose’s 18 points. Carlos Boozer picked up his third foul early in the second and spent the rest of the half on the bench for Tom Thibodeau. Boozer has 10 points in 12 minutes for the Bulls. Rose has been magnificent but is going to need contributions from the likes of Luol Deng ( 2 points) and Boozer if the Bulls are going to hold off this upset attempt by the Pacers.
Despite Chicago’s struggles offensively, it has been their performance defensively that will be most troubling for Tom Thibodeau. Indiana has routinely gotten good looks at the basket and shot 50% from the floor in the first half. Even when the Pacers did miss, they gobbled up eight offensive rebounds. In addition to Collison’s 15 points, Roy Hibbert has 10, and three other players all have six.
