Chauncey Billups Injury Leaves Knicks’ Point Guard Inactive For Game 2; Toney Douglas To Start

Chauncey Billups is in fact inactive for Game 2 of the New York Knicks' first-round NBA Playoffs series against the Boston Celtics. Billups injured his knee in Game 1 of the series on Sunday; he will reportedly have an MRI on Wednesday in New York City.

Toney Douglas, a second-year guard out of Florida State who started nine games during the regular season, will start in Billups' place. The Knicks made forward Derrick Brown active in place of Billups. Like Billups, Douglas is a shoot-first guard willing to fire a three-pointer at any time. More than half of Douglas' career field goal attempts have come from behind the arc, and he hits at an above-average 38 percent rate on threes.

Billups shot just 3-11 in Game 1, but matched matchup Rajon Rondo's 10 points. Rondo, however, had nine assists to Billups' four. Douglas played just under 26 minutes in Game 1, scoring eight points on 3-8 shooting.
