In Friday night’s Game 3 of the first round of the NBA Playoffs, the Boston Celtics lead the New York Knicks after a quarter, 27-20. Given their rough start, though, the Carmelo Anthony and the Knicks may well be happy with that score.
Knicks Vs. Celtics Score: Paul Pierce Puts Boston In Lead, But Carmelo Anthony, New York Closing Gap
The Celtics had a 22-5 lead with four minutes left in the quarter, but the Knicks battled back in a hurry. Their 15-5 run came courtesy of big shots from Anthony and Shawne Williams. overall, the Knicks are shooting 40 percent from the field so far, and are roughly even in the rebound battle. Amar’e Stoudemire, who is returning from injury, has been held scoreless so far.
The Celtics have been led so far by Paul Pierce, who already has 14 points. Pierce scored 18 points in Game 1, and 20 in Game 2.
