Derrick Rose Injury: Ankle Boot, Precautionary MRI For Bulls Star

On Saturday, Derrick Rose left the Bulls’ Game 4 loss to the Pacers in the first quarter before returning to the game in the second frame and playing 43 minutes in total. On Sunday, Rose was walking around in a precautionary ankle boot and anticipating the results of an MRI.

WGN Radio also reports that no one with the Bulls is particularly worried about Rose’s ability to keep playing.

Coach Tom Thibodeau said the walking boot was a precautionary measure to stabilize the ankle, which Rose sprained late in the first quarter of Saturday’s loss to the Pacers.

...

“He’s fine,” Thibodeau said. “He’s going to have his ankle checked and hopefully he’ll be ready. When we ask him, he says he’s fine. (Athletic trainer) Fred (Tedeschi) said he has a little soreness. But Derrick said he’s fine. He said the swelling isn’t bad.“The Bulls meet the Pacers in Game 5 of their series on Tuesday in Chicago.
