Rock fights have nothing on the game the Nuggets and Lakers are playing in the Staples Center. After the first quarter, the score is 21-20 in Denver’s favor.
Nuggets Vs. Lakers: Denver Leads Low Scoring-Game After First Quarter
The Western Conference’s two hottest teams since the All-Star break have both come out cold on this Sunday: Los Angeles is shooting 34.6% from the field, while Denver’s a tick lower at 32%. Danilo Gallinari leads the Nuggets and all scorers with nine points, but even he is just three of seven from the field after the first period.
Pau Gasol has paced the Lakers with six points on three-of-six shooting; Kobe Bryant also has six points, but he’s been shooting poorly, making just two of nine shots.
In fairness, it’s still just an hour after noon in Los Angeles. There is plenty of time left for either or both teams to wake up.
